J\u2019ai en t\u00eate des expressions entendues plusieurs fois de de dirigeants ou de managers comme : \u00ab\u00a0<em>J\u2019ai du mal \u00e0 manager des ing\u00e9nieurs dans mon \u00e9quipe qui ont r\u00e9ussi, eux, \u00e0 int\u00e9grer les grandes \u00e9coles\u2026<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0<em>Mon boss a fait une grande \u00e9cole et est particuli\u00e8rement exigeant avec moi\u2026<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0. Cette croyance, que ressentent souvent ceux et celles ayant suivi le parcours des fameuses \u00ab\u00a0Pr\u00e9pas\u00a0\u00bb et n\u2019ayant pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 int\u00e9grer les meilleures \u00e9coles, est un des cas embl\u00e9matiques rencontr\u00e9 dans le cadre de ma formation Executive Coaching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce complexe est passionnant (\u00e0 coacher) \u00e0 deux titres : il se pr\u00eate d&rsquo;une part \u00e0 une analyse fine via la <strong>philosophie sto\u00efcienne<\/strong> et r\u00e9v\u00e8le la m\u00e9canique de certains nos <strong>biais cognitifs<\/strong> classiques. Voici l&rsquo;analyse de ces deux points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. La perspective de  la philosophie sto\u00efcienne : la \u00ab\u00a0Repr\u00e9sentation\u00a0\u00bb comme source du trouble<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dans la philosophie sto\u00efcienne, notamment chez \u00c9pict\u00e8te, ce ne sont pas les choses qui nous troublent, mais l&rsquo;id\u00e9e que nous nous en faisons. C&rsquo;est le concept de la <strong>repr\u00e9sentation<\/strong> (<em>phantasia<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Le Fait vs Le Jugement :<\/strong> le fait est neutre : <em>\u00ab Mon collaborateur est dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 d&rsquo;une \u00e9cole prestigieuse. \u00bb<\/em>. Le trouble na\u00eet du jugement de valeur que le coach\u00e9 y ajoute : <em>\u00ab Il est donc intrins\u00e8quement plus l\u00e9gitime ou plus \u00ab\u00a0intelligent\u00a0\u00bb que moi. \u00bb<\/em>. En coaching, le travail consiste \u00e0 d\u00e9-fusionner avec cette pens\u00e9e pour revenir \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 du pr\u00e9sent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>La Diachronie du Jugement :<\/strong> ce complexe fige l&rsquo;individu dans un \u00e9v\u00e9nement pass\u00e9 (un concours pass\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge de 20 ans, qui plus est dans un \u00ab\u00a0r\u00f4le sp\u00e9cifique\u00a0\u00bb d\u00e9sormais termin\u00e9). Le sto\u00efcisme invite \u00e0 revenir \u00e0 ce qui d\u00e9pend de nous (<em>prohairesis<\/em>) : notre action pr\u00e9sente et notre capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 juger sainement, plut\u00f4t que de rester prisonnier d&rsquo;une \u00e9tiquette acad\u00e9mique obsol\u00e8te qui appartient \u00e0 la cat\u00e9gorie des \u00ab choses ext\u00e9rieures \u00bb.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. La m\u00e9canique des biais cognitifs : le \u00ab\u00a0bug\u00a0\u00bb de traitement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce complexe n&rsquo;est pas qu&rsquo;une \u00e9motion ; c&rsquo;est un v\u00e9ritable dysfonctionnement dans le traitement de l&rsquo;information par notre cerveau. Trois m\u00e9canismes principaux l&rsquo;alimentent :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>L\u2019Effet de Halo :<\/strong> il consiste \u00e0 \u00e9tendre une caract\u00e9ristique positive per\u00e7ue (la r\u00e9ussite d&rsquo;un concours s\u00e9lectif) \u00e0 l&rsquo;ensemble de la personnalit\u00e9. On pr\u00eate au dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 une sup\u00e9riorit\u00e9 globale (leadership, vision, expertise), alors que son succ\u00e8s initial ne garantit qu&rsquo;une aptitude acad\u00e9mique sp\u00e9cifique \u00e0 un instant T.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Le Biais d\u2019Ancrage :<\/strong> le prestige de l&rsquo;\u00e9cole initiale sert d&rsquo;ancre cognitive. Le cerveau \u00ab fixe \u00bb la valeur de l&rsquo;individu sur ce point de d\u00e9part vieux de plusieurs d\u00e9cennies, ce qui fausse toute \u00e9valuation ult\u00e9rieure de ses comp\u00e9tences r\u00e9elles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Le Biais de Confirmation :<\/strong> le manager s\u00e9lectionne uniquement les informations qui valident son sentiment d&rsquo;inf\u00e9riorit\u00e9. Il interpr\u00e9tera une remarque technique de son boss comme une preuve de sa propre inad\u00e9quation, tout en occultant les signes de r\u00e9ussite, de feedbacks positifs ou de reconnaissance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour mieux comprendre comment ces concepts s&rsquo;articulent dans la pratique du coaching, voici un tableau r\u00e9capitulatif :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"677\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decaiders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Capture-decran-2026-02-09-a-16.51.57-1024x677.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.decaiders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Capture-decran-2026-02-09-a-16.51.57-1024x677.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.decaiders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Capture-decran-2026-02-09-a-16.51.57-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/www.decaiders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Capture-decran-2026-02-09-a-16.51.57-768x508.png 768w, https:\/\/www.decaiders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Capture-decran-2026-02-09-a-16.51.57-1536x1016.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.decaiders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Capture-decran-2026-02-09-a-16.51.57.png 1978w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le d\u00e9passement de ce complexe marque le passage d&rsquo;une r\u00e9action dict\u00e9e par des repr\u00e9sentations sociales \u00e0 une \u00e9thique de l&rsquo;<strong>action convenable<\/strong> (<em>kathekon<\/em>). Ce processus requiert une double discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. La hi\u00e9rarchie des \u00ab\u00a0r\u00f4les : Universel vs Sp\u00e9cifique\u00a0\u00bb<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le sto\u00efcisme (notamment chez \u00c9pict\u00e8te) nous enseigne que nous habitons plusieurs r\u00f4les. Le <strong>r\u00f4le universel<\/strong> est celui d&rsquo;un \u00eatre dou\u00e9 de raison, o\u00f9 en l&rsquo;occurrence le prestige acad\u00e9mique n&rsquo;a aucune substance. Le <strong>r\u00f4le sp\u00e9cifique<\/strong> est celui li\u00e9 \u00e0 nos circonstances (\u00eatre manager, \u00e9tudiant.e de telle \u00e9cole, fils.fille de&#8230;, m\u00e8re.p\u00e8re de&#8230;, etc.). La d\u00e9faillance comportementale na\u00eet d&rsquo;une confusion hi\u00e9rarchique : le coach\u00e9 laisse son \u00ab r\u00f4le sp\u00e9cifique \u00bb pass\u00e9 envahir son \u00ab r\u00f4le universel \u00bb et paralyser sa capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;analyse pr\u00e9sente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. L\u2019 \u00ab\u00a0Action convenable\u00a0\u00bb contre l&rsquo;inertie des biais<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&rsquo;action convenable est celle qui est justifi\u00e9e par une analyse objective des faits et des devoirs de la fonction. Elle ne peut \u00e9merger que si les filtres cognitifs sont neutralis\u00e9s ou tout du moins r\u00e9duits :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>En brisant l&rsquo;<strong>effet de halo<\/strong>, le coach\u00e9 peut enfin \u00e9valuer les comp\u00e9tences r\u00e9elles n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la situation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>En levant le <strong>biais d&rsquo;ancrage<\/strong>, il substitue la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 du terrain \u00e0 une hi\u00e9rarchie acad\u00e9mique fig\u00e9e.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>En neutralisant le <strong>biais de confirmation<\/strong>, il cesse de distordre la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 pour valider un sentiment d&rsquo;ill\u00e9gitimit\u00e9. Sans cette d\u00e9construction, le biais de confirmation rend l&rsquo;action \u00ab non-convenable \u00bb car elle ne r\u00e9pond plus aux besoins de la situation, mais aux exigences d&rsquo;un r\u00e9cit interne erron\u00e9.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion : un comble \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e8re de l&rsquo;IA<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c0 l&rsquo;heure o\u00f9 l&rsquo;intelligence artificielle red\u00e9finit la valeur ajout\u00e9e humaine, ce complexe devient un v\u00e9ritable anachronisme. L&rsquo;IA peut d\u00e9sormais automatiser les t\u00e2ches analytiques complexes, autrefois chasse gard\u00e9e de l&rsquo;excellence acad\u00e9mique.
